The Art Of Shopping
Shopping is a fun act for all of us but it can be a
cumbersome activity for some too. Some may be born shoppers and some may just
struggle to buy that one RIGHT pair of denim. Trying multiple pair of denim and
still confused, is not uncommon. Pressure to buy makes one so panicky at times
that you would end up buying the wrong stuff. The mantra here is to AVERT WRONG
BUY. Getting panicky while shopping, be it cause of little time in hand or any
other reason would never help but make you buy the wrong stuff.
Shopping is like a therapy which gives one a feel good
factor, releases happiness hormones and relieves stress too. So it should be
done only when you have ample free time to explore many options, compare
various brands and try them all out and see which is the best one for you.
Never shop in haste, you will never like your buy when you are back
home. Only grocery buying can happen in haste 😝. Impulsive buying is another dangerous practice and often
happens when someone pumps you up. Like the salesperson would pump you up
saying “Madame this fragrance is one of it’s kinds, very unique and it is just
made for you “, you for that very moment just get carried away and what next? You
end up buying it too. It is quite possible you might just not like it the next
day because it wasn’t your sole decision and choice. Avoid such impact on your
buying decision and just listen to yourself. Don't just do shopping, indulge in it 😉
Very often we encounter another scenario where we see salesperson holding up an attitude on their faces, speaking English, wearing
a suit, who will not come to you but you need to approach them for your
queries. They act like consultants more and salesperson less. They make you feel
so petite after few of your questions and hold a snobby expression which certainly
would mean in their minds “window shopping is not allowed here” “ask questions
only if you want to buy” “don’t bug me with your questions” “see and try only
if you buy” etc etc. And after a few trials when you don’t find anything which
suits up your requirement these men would haunt you with their looks and either
make you feel so humiliated that you end up buying something just to please the
salesperson or walk out on a silent note. Here, I would caution you, that don’t
buy anything just to please the salesperson or save your esteem. It is his job and
he can’t act so pricey for that. This usually happens in jewellery stores, high
end premium brands etc. On not buying their products, their faces would swell
and gestures would be unwelcoming. This is a practiced sales trick by many
brands these days to compel the customer to buy there ultra expensive products.
Selling such expensive products is always a push and due to heavy competition
it becomes more difficult to sell the luxury goods. So don’t fall prey to this
technique which is a major sales trick used to induce forced buying these
days. No matter how much humiliated they make you feel, just walk away and
don’t buy.
Every time we shop, we must escape a WRONG BUY. If you have been
confused over any you have already got your answer and that is NO. It often happens, we end up buying the
wrong lipcolor. Try it first and if you are confused over it, that simply means you
aren’t convinced about it so just chuck the idea of buying it. This one is not made for
you. Confusion means a straight NO. If you tried something on and you looking
fabulous in your first sight, liking how you look in this ..just buy it. This one is for
you. Don’t listen to anyone but yourself if you convinced of the way you look .
Often you would be hurried up to make an early decision by
your husband , your mom or someone. Remember what I said above? Don’t buy in
haste, you would always end up buying wrong. Rather walk out and make sure to
comeback shopping with your BFF. Your friend would definitely be patient and
also wait outside the trial room for hours wearing a smile 😊. And
that is how shopping should look and be. In the end we all should feel
rejuvenated, isn’t it! This blog is dedicated to all my BFFs and to remind them
that we are due shopping together long time now.
